Changing Seasons | Sophia Verai

As golden days begin to wane

And dim their laughing light

The yawning Summer, ripe with grain

Lies down and fades from sight

The skies were wide with dreams

The nights were scented sweet

Peace and joy flowed in streams

Hearts kept time to Summer’s beat

Now Autumn steps with quiet grace

To share her whispers cool

She lifts her gentle, auburn face

And offers fresh renewal

She asks we turn to tasks at hand

Withstand the weight and chill

She works to tend her fruitful land

We work for dreams fulfilled

Swirling leaves now kiss the ground

Longer nights embrace the days

Within this change a glory abounds

A timeless glory, here to stay
